Coach Biancardi
Paul Biancardi, a native of East Boston, Massachusetts, developed a lifelong passion for basketball as a major Boston Celtics fan. During his high school years at Pope John, he captained the basketball team, showcasing his leadership and talent on the court.
In college, Paul played basketball at Salem State under the guidance of Coach Tom Thibodeau, who later coached in the NBA. He earned his degree in physical education while leading his team as captain during his senior year. Paul’s dedication and character were recognized with the prestigious “James Twohig Award.”
Paul’s coaching career began as an assistant at Boston College, where he gained invaluable experience. He went on to become the head coach at Wright State University from 2003 to 2006. His coaching journey also included stints as an assistant coach at Ohio State University, St. Louis, and a return to Boston College. His exceptional skills earned him recognition as the No.1 assistant coach in the country by Hoop Scoop Online.
In 2006, Paul joined ESPN as a college and high school basketball analyst and became ESPN’s national recruiting director in 2008. He is a respected voting member of several prestigious committees, including the McDonald’s All American Committee, the Gatorade State and National Player of the Year, and the Naismith Player of the Year.
